How to draw a kitchen

This article shows you how to use the editor to draw a kitchen

To draw a kitchen you have to first open an Archilogic building model in the editor. Make sure that you've unlocked structural editing first.

Once structural editing has been unlocked left-click the pencil button and select Kitchen from the dropdown menu. Alternatively, you can also use the "KI" shortcut to select the kitchen drawing tool.

Start drawing a kitchen object by left-clicking into the scene and moving your mouse cursor to the desired direction. Left-click again to place the kitchen.

Select the kitchen object by left-clicking it to access additional drawing options in the menu bar on the right side of the window.

Position

With the X and Z values, you can change the position of the kitchen in the X and Z axis respectively while the Base position value allows you to adjust the distance of the kitchen from the floor.

With the Rotation value, you can adjust the rotation of the kitchen object.

Dimensions

The Height value allows you to control how high the kitchen should be while the Lenght value determines the length of the kitchen. With the Width value, you can adjust the overall width of the kitchen.

Configurations

The configurations menu allows you to customize the overall look of the kitchen object.

The first two data fields allow you to add full-height cabinets to either the left or the right side. The length of the kitchen object determines how many cabinets can be added.

The Cabinet style dropdown menu allows you to choose between 3 different visual styles for the cabinet doors.

With the Counter thickness value, you can adjust the thickness of the countertop.

if the Wall cabinet checkbox is ticked the kitchen object will have wall-mounted cabinets above the kitchen. If it's unticked the wall-mounted cabinets will disappear.

The Bar counter checkbox will extend the countertop away from the cabinets to form a bar counter. This option is only available if the kitchen object is used as a kitchen isle without any full height cabinets.

Appliance configurations

The appliance configurations menu allows you to add additional details to your kitchen object, such as a cooktop or a kitchen sink.

The Cooktop dropdown menu gives you the option to choose between 5 different options:

  • A 60 cm wide electric cooktop
  • A 90 cm wide electric cooktop
  • A 60 cm wide gas cooktop
  • A 90 cm wide gas cooktop
  • No cooktop

The Extractor dropdown menu allows you to choose between different styles of steam extractors:

  • Box-shaped extractor
  • Pyramid-shaped extractor
  • Integrated extractor
  • No extractor

The Cooktop Position allows you to choose the kitchen segment in which the cooktop should be placed.

With the Oven dropdown menu, you can choose between a single oven, a double oven (this only works if the position of the oven is placed into a full-height cabinet), or no oven at all.

The Oven Position allows you to choose the kitchen segment in which the oven should be placed. The default position of the oven is below the cooktop.

The Sink dropdown menu gives you the option between a single sink, a double sink, or no sink at all.

The Sink Position allows you to choose the kitchen segment in which the sink should be placed.

Finally, the last two checkboxes allow you to add an integrated Fridge or a Microwave to full-height cabinets.

Materials

The Materials menu allows you to select preset materials for both your kitchen counter and also for kitchen cabinets.
